Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you have to be holding cards at the end of your turn?

A: Yes, you must always have at least one card in your hand at the end of your turn unless you are picking up your second had (in which case you are holding cards) or you are finishing the round or "going out."

Q: Do you have discard at the end of your turn?

A: Yes, you must always discard at the end of your turn unless you are "going out" (ending the round) or you use your Greedy card to not have to discard (you may only do this if you have already made your first meld for the round).

Q: When you are melding for the first time during a round, can you use your Greedy card to buy cards from the discard pile?

A: No, you may only use the Greedy card if you have melded on a previous turn.

Q: If I use my Greedy card to buy the top card of the discard pile, do I still take the next five cards from the discard pile?

A: Yes, unless there aren't five cards left in the discard pile, in which case you would take all of the remaining cards.

Q: Why does the scorecard have columns for 6 players if the box only says that Greedy Hands is a 2-4 player game?

A: Greedy Hands can be played with more than 4 people but one game box only contains enough cards to play all the rounds with up to 4 people. You can add more people by buying an additional Greedy Hands game and adding 1 pack of cards (there are 4 packs of 56 cards in each Greedy Hands deck) for every additional player. We have found that if you have over 6 people you might as well have 2 games of Greedy Hands going on, unless you like to wait a long time for your turn.
